The Bristol Flying Centre is a Civil Aviation Authority approved Type Rating Training Organisation.

We offer 7 day ground school and aircraft based JAR-FCL Type Rating Courses for the Cessna Citation Jet CJ525a and CJ525b Series and Beech King Air BE200/100/90 aircraft.

Ground studies consist of a 3 days technical course conducted at Bristol Flying Centre, followed by a 4 day Flight Training and Testing Phase based out of Bristol International Airport (EGGD,BRS).

Thanks to our excellent relationship with the CAA we are often able to negotiate reduced flying training hours for candidates with appropriate experience (usually turbine experience), this of course results in reduced costs to the candidate.

Minimum pre-entry requirements

As an aircraft based (not simulator) course we offer (subject to availability) a CJ 525 with Honeywell SPZ-5000 system and EFIS and CJ2 fitted with Collins Pro Line 21 EFIS avionics suite. Our BE200 is fitted with EFIS-FMS-MFD which adds an extra dimension to the course content.

Flight Training includes a revision of Instrument Approach Procedures including Instrument Rating renewal/revalidation if required.
