age of 16, and from there qualified as a Ground Engineer and
then Flight Engineer for BA, working on VC10's, Tristars and
747's. After 30 years with BA Roy retired and began instructing
full time. He now has over 2,500 hours and is also a single/multi

Tony Gould
Before taking up instructing Tony's varied employment history
has included managing a successful band, but he always had the
urge to fly. His first instructional position was in the South
of France, but he got bored of the nice weather and came back
to spend 3 years managing three 707's for cargo runs. Tony came
to work for BFC after being offered the Chief Flying Instructors
position, as he liked the size and the atmosphere of the school.
He's a keen motorcyclist and avid cricket fan. |

Russell
Frost
A trial lesson in a helicopter back in 1997 sparked Russ's interest
in flying, leading to his career change from a Mechanical Engineer.
But he didn't pursue the rotary option, instead preferring the
challenge and reward of fixed wing instruction. A big sports
fan, Russ enjoys both playing and watching football and also
likes the relaxing pace of golf. |

did his first solo at 16. He initially came to BFC to finish
his IR and ended up taking up his first instructors position
here as a PPL/IMC instructor. Leigh then went on to take his
examiners ratings and is now a UK CRE and PPL FE on single/multi-engine
piston land. He is also a base check Captain with Centreline
Air Charter. |
